Aboriginal Procurement Training

Introduction to Successful Aboriginal Procurement

The Aboriginal Human Resource Council has developed a comprehensive training and advisory program to help organizations develop and deliver successful Aboriginal procurement programs that will meet their purchasing needs, achieve sustainability and inclusion goals, and enhance the Canadian economy.

The program consists of three components – workshops, resources and advisory services as follows:

  • Online and Instructor-led workshops
  • E-Resource Shelf
  • Advisory Services

Accredited members of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) may be eligible to earn credits towards maintenance of their SCMP designations. Please consult with your PMAC Provincial or Territorial Institute for details.

To be considered an Aboriginal business, a company must be at least 51 per cent Aboriginal owned or, if a joint-venture or consortium, it must be 51 per cent Aboriginal controlled or one-third of the firm’s staff must be Aboriginal.
