Aboriginal Employment Centres

In Canada, 80 Aboriginal agreement holder (Aboriginal employment centres) deliver labour market programming in over 400 locations. Each AHRDA (employment centre) serves as the most direct source to help Aboriginal people find employment and access training. These community-level agreements are flexible to ensure that Aboriginal organizations have authority to make decisions to meet the needs of their communities.

The employment centres are the key component in the federal government’s Aboriginal Skills and Employment Training Strategy designed by Human Resources and Skills Development to expand the employment opportunities of Aboriginal people across Canada
