The Right Honourable Stephen Harper

I am pleased to extend my warmest greetings to everyone participating in Inclusion Works ‘10: Canada’s biggest Aboriginal employment and Human Resources event.

As Canada’s economy recovers from the global recession, one of the Government’s priorities has been to generate opportunities for First Nations, Inuit and Métis to participate in the growth of our economy. In every region of the country, the Aboriginal workforce stands ready and willing to build rewarding careers and achieve personal fulfillment: you are critical components of our society and key to our shared prosperity.

I commend the members of the Aboriginal Human Resource Council for their commitment to championing inclusion for First Nations, Inuit and Métis people. This conference follows on the great accomplishments of the first Inclusion event in Vancouver. Through bringing First Nations, Inuit and Métis professionals together with employers, and by teaching those employers how recruit and retain them, this conference achieves a remarkable level of success by opening doors for the advancement of Aboriginal Canadians.

On behalf of the Government of Canada, please accept my best wishes for a memorable and productive meeting.

The Rt. Hon. Stephen Harper, P.C., M.P.
