Leo Jacobs is a Treaty member of the Bigstone Cree Nation whose journey has carried him from the trap lines of northern Alberta to the boardrooms of trans-national corporations. As President and CEO of Jacobs Consultation and Management Services in Fort McMurray, Leo Jacobs has participated in the industrial development of the oil sands and has served as a bridge builder between companies developing the oil sands and Aboriginal communities in the Fort McMurray area.
Over his career Leo Jacobs has been a mechanic, a teacher, a consultant, a business owner/manager, and a force for change in the educational world. Most recently he served as Associate Vice President, Aboriginal & Government Relations for Keyano College. In that role he assessed the needs of business, government, industry, and the Aboriginal communities by maintaining close contact with all decision makers and being responsive to marketplace and community needs by creating / brokering Aboriginal community development, economic development, environment, health, work force development and other industry related programs, in a timely and effective manner.
