The Aboriginal Human Resource Council (AHRC) and the National Native American Human Resources Association (NNAHRA) will sign a landmark international good faith agreement. This agreement will mark the first step in international cooperation to advance human resource development in Indigenous partnerships, recruitment, retention, advancement, procurement and career development.
AHRC and NNAHRA are partners and international counterparts in Aboriginal inclusion and national representative organizations of Aboriginal Canadians and Native Americans. Both organizations, founded in the late 1990s, have distinctive and overlapping goals.
As Canada’s national Aboriginal resource council, AHRC, focuses on employer engagement to accelerate movement of Aboriginal people into Canada’s labour market. The NNAHRA has been dedicated to provide professional HR services and support to American tribes and tribal organizations. One positive outcome of the new partnership will be evidenced in the transfer of practices and knowledge that will benefit of both organizations.
It is anticipated that other international signatories may join, expanding the focus on Indigenous inclusion beyond North America.
