The New Aboriginal Skills, Employment, and Training Strategy Responding to Accountability, Demand for Skills, and Building Partnerships
Introducing the new Aboriginal Skills Employment and Training Strategy- responding to accountability, demand for skills, and building partnerships. Catherine Adam, Director General, Aboriginal Affairs Directorate, Human Resources Development Canada, will share information on the Department’s new Aboriginal Skills Employment Strategy (successor to the Aboriginal Human Resource Development Strategy). She will describe its Skills and Partnership Fund, which is an active, entrepreneurial instrument to improve employment outcomes for Aboriginal peoples. This session will include other speakers who will showcase successful partnerships with the private sector, provinces and territories, Sector Councils through the Aboriginal Skills Employment Partnership program and the Aboriginal Skills Training Strategic Investment Fund.
