Description:
The year 2010 marks the 25th anniversary of Justice Rosalie Abella’s Royal Commission on Equity in Employment, which concluded that Aboriginal people, women, visible minorities and people with disabilities faced barriers in the workplace. The Report of the Royal Commission formed the basis for the Employment Equity Act, which was established as a first step towards eradicating those barriers. This workshop examines the legacy of 25 years of employment equity and asks what lessons have been learned for the next 25 years.
